ABOUT US
Founded 2020
Founder Kate Lindsay BA, MA, PGCE is a writer, English Teacher and Education Consultant with an impassioned and progressive vision for education. It is this vision that led to the establishment of Christchurch Education Ltd in 2020, after many years teaching in a variety of settings. This included one to one and small group teaching, Looked After Children, refugees, SEND as well as in the mainstream classroom and postgraduate.
Kate identified a massive need for the provision of outstanding extra-curricular English teaching to be provided to students who were unable to fulfil their academic potential during the school day. Unfortunately, for some young people, school can be a challenging environment in which to succeed. For others, missed school and disadvantage is the reason for such difficulties. For others, reaching adulthood without having access to education has been the stumbling block. The results however are the same; the need for focused and bespoke support.
Kate's vision for Christchurch Education was rooted in the desire to deliver a tailored, accessible and creative programme of English intervention, closing the attainment gap and raising standards. Through the delivery of engaging, exciting and unique provision that meets the needs of each leaner, it is Kate's ambition that all students will be able to make progress and feel confident and ambitious about their place in the world. Whether this is received at home, in a formal learning environment or an entirely independent setting.
The pursuit of knowledge and the enjoyment of social progress through education is not a privilege, it is a right. Kate hopes that with the establishment of Christchurch Education, people who may feel estranged from learning can be re-engaged and supported at every step to meet their potential.
